Girls in the Entertainment Industry ...
Me and the "Fresh Prince" Have the SAME Birthday! lol
That's not all we have in COMMON! The other night the author of the book "Training Camp" Jon Gordon was speaking to the ENTIRE FOOTBALL TEAM ... He's the Person who's book I blogged about earlier, but through his talk he touched on other individuals in society and why they were successful. He left me with a quote that just proved to me yet again why "Will Smith" is one of the FLYEST PEOPLE To walk the EARTH! ... Of course I'm biased because we share the same B-Day but there's more to this man he truly something special and a gifted actor ... The QUOTE that Proves this MANS Greatness ...
Will Smith:
"I'm not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be outworked. You may be more talented than me. You might be smarter than me. And you may be better looking than me. But if we get on a treadmill together, you are going to get off first or I'm going to die. It's really that simple. I'm not going to be outworked."
He's clearly a FIERCE Competitor ... You gotta LOVE IT!
I Hate Treadmills, but I believe that there's a part of me that is capable to share in his INSANITY! :-) I Love to Work Hard b/ c AFTERWARDS you FEEL like a Million Bucks ... Plus you walk away with the 8 Pack ... I Mean I Do ANYWAYS ... But Will Smith is the MAN and I really like this quote, thought I'd share it with yall ... Very few people are too talented for the competition so that isn't enough anymore ... Nowadays you need to have an unchallengeable work ethic in almost every aspect of life ... Will Smith expresses his EDGE in the Entertainment Industry as he will Outwork his Peers or Die Trying ... :-) Tough
Back to School! :-)
Kinda Excited, Cornell is Gonna be FLY This YEAR!

Camp Brings out the BEST in People ... Brandon Bing
In Life you can often be defined by the people you surround yourself with. To this day I have made a conscious effort of associating with people that live purpose driven lives and also that serve as a positive influence in some aspect to my life ... The picture above is of the 10th most influential person in my life "Brandon Bing." He continues to motivate me even though we haven't spoken it couple of days. COMPETITION is one of the BEST qualities LIFE has to OFFER. Brandon's story is inspiring and a developing one that I hope you all stay tuned because I know that in the END Bing will Be Successful! "It's in Our Blood!" ...
Entire Article:
It's rare that Brandon Bing hears footsteps -- he was the Pennsylvania state champion in the 200 and 400 meters in high school -- so it's not surprising when he says he doesn't hear them now, despite a freshman class at Rutgers that features three highly-touted cornerbacks.
That happens to be the position that Bing, a junior, plays as well.
But the 5-11, 180-pounder is applying the same Satchel Paige rule in his bid to become a first-time starter as he once did in track: Don't look back to see if anyone is gaining on you.
This is a big opportunity year for Bing, and he knows it. Devin McCourty is locked in as one starter at corner. But with Jason McCourty, last year's other cornerback starter, now with the Tennessee Titans, Bing knows there's a position up for grabs.
"This is the opportunity I've been waiting for and I'm trying to take advantage of it," Bing said after Rutgers wrapped up day five of preseason camp Saturday. "I know the opportunity is there now and if there's an opportunity you've got to do your best to get that spot.
"The opportunity was not there the past few years. Now that it's there you've got to push forward and separate from the pack."
Bing, from Wyncote, Pa., hasn't quite done that yet, since he's battling Billy Anderson and redshirt freshman Brandon Jones for the open corner spot.
But the difference in Bing's approach and focus is hard to ignore. After playing in parts of 23 games his first two years, his early play has been starter-worthy.
The trio of hotshot true freshmen -- Darrell Givens, Logan Ryan and Abdul Smith -- can't make the same claim just yet.
"What Bing has done so far, five practices in, is he has been consistent," head coach Greg Schiano said. "He's always been able to make spectacular plays, but then he gives up gimmes.
"Five days into it, he has been very consistent."
Bing said that being out of the shadow of at least one of the McCourtys -- and knowing his time in college is running out -- has given him the motivation he needed.
"Last year I was following the McCourtys and one of them left," he said. "I'm still following Devin because he's such a great player and great leader, but I'm also trying to be my own player now.
"Devin has talked to me and (cornerbacks coach coach Chris) Hewitt has taken me on the side and they've both said they needed me this year. My biggest thing is to be prepared and to be consistent."
To this point in his career, with the exception of an interception against Louisville last year and six tackles against Cincinnati two seasons ago, Bing has made his most lasting impression at Rutgers with his feet.
He's fast. Very fast.
But it has taken this long for him to understand that speed alone, exceptional as his is, isn't enough.
"You have to go beyond that," he said. "You can be a fast guy and not be a football player. You've got to do other things in football that can out-shine fast. You've got to make plays.
"This is football, not track and field. I know track and field. In football you've got to do a lot more."
So far he has, putting himself in a position where a good first scrimmage on Tuesday could be enough to elevate him to first-team corner opposite McCourty. For depth chart purposes now, Anderson is holding that spot.
But, as Bing knows, it's just five days in.
"I don't want to jump the gun," he said. "I just want to continue to focus on the now. I don't want to worry about the sixth day or the seventh day. I don't want to think about the future. I don't even want to think about the results.
"I'm just worried about right now and what I need to do to get on the field and help this team."
Bing is noticeably bigger than he was the past two years, which won't hurt his cause. More significant, that added bulk and muscle haven't taken away from what remains his biggest asset.
"I haven't slowed down," he said.
Till NEXT TIME ...
Camp is Here! Cornell Football 2009
It's Time
Football Camp 2009
When you LOVE something its often the case that you’ll do anything to ensure that you won’t have to LIVE without it … Some people say Football is HARD I say DUH … It should be, I tend to refer to Football as my Girlfriend b/c since I started playing the game back in the 8th grade at age 10 I couldn’t imagine doing anything else during the FALL. Part of me is EMPTY After the Weeks that I rest to let my body recuperate after an intense season.
It’s in MY BLOOD … Football has taught me a lot about myself, about others and has afforded my opportunities that some people can’t get in a normal lifetime. I owe a lot to this GAME and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
A NEW SEASON is about to BEGIN here at Cornell and It’s one FULL of Excitement. Our Team has TRANSFORMED, approximately 20+ Players have QUIT since this past season and heading into Camp it looks like it was for the better b/c although there is STRENGTH in NUMBERS this TEAM the people that have stayed on BOARD are people that I am VERY confident in Heading into this upcoming Season. Life is FULL of Choices, Opportunities, and WE need to take advantage of Obstacles and options we have thrown our WAY. We are a NEW TEAM on a Mission and after an Awesome Opening Day we Kick things off Tomorrow at 6am …
I know that this upcoming YEAR for me at Cornell is gonna be one to REMEMBER I don’t know why but a lot Excites me about the summer winding DOWN. For EVERYTHING you Encounter in life this QUOTE usually suffices and can have resonance in the daily operation.
“Without PAIN, Without SACRAFICE, We Would have Nothing!”
So Keep that in Mind and realize that in order to make gains in your LIFE you must be willing to enter a state of discomfort and embrace it as opposed to running away!
Thanks for TUNING IN …

The BEST Coach/Trainer/Mentor on EARTH!
Some people may think he’s CRAZY, but I think he’s relentless, but in a GOOD way. Aaron has been a great coach/ friend/ mentor over the years and has been there for me throughout my high school career and continues to look out for me in any way that he can now that I’m up at Cornell.
I made the decision to play running back my freshman year of high school. Having previously only played wide receiver this was a stretch but in the end it was one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. That first day of camp I was introduced to a man that would be instrumental in my development and over time he would instill values that I’ll keep with me for the rest of my life.
Coach Aaron was the strength and conditioning coach, friend, and mentor that most people dreamed of. He’s honest, selfless, motivational, and inspiring. College recruiting was a big phase in my life and with the help from Coach Aaron I entered the process more confident and more prepared then a lot of my peers. To this day you can honestly tell the different strength and conditioning coaches people interacted with in their high school careers. Someone’s transition into college workouts is a great judgment of the types workouts people were exposed to during high school. He gave me an advantage and truly prepared me for the rigorous expectations that come as a part of being a dedicated college football player. He exposed me to a lot of workouts that have yet to be introduced on most college campuses and he was always informative and innovative which kept me interested in the different workouts. I enjoy working out but when he was able to diversify our workouts he made them that much better.
One area coach Aaron helped me tremendously is my Mental Toughness. I believe I have been gifted and always have been secure mentally but after interacting with him hit to my mentality and mindset to a different level. Coach truly showed me how to manage the hardships of being successful and motivated me to take me life and my football career to the next level. In football you’d be surprised to know that over 50% of the GAME is mental and through my workouts ad different experiences with him I am prepared to take on these challenges and embrace the different expectations or hardships.
I have come along way from the Football player I used to be and a lot of it has been due to the help of Coach Aaron. Even though he has had the opportunity to workout great athletes like: Ibro Campbell, Wayne Crawford, Lamar McPherson, Mike Mattei, Julian McFadden and this Baseball Fella Jimmy Rollins … I know deep down in his Heart I’ll always be his FAVORITE … lol
Coach Aaron TRANSFORMED my Career, my Mentality, and my Approach for preparing my body for the sport I LOVE … you gotta love ‘em
Thanks for EVERYTHING so far COACH I couldn’t do it without YOU! Plus, I know no matter what my career path is that you’ll be apart of it …

BZJ, BZ, Chris Carter, Brandon, The REALEST!
BZ is the REALEST Person I KNOW! Now, I’m not playing when I say this, I have known him for about 8 or 9 years and out of all of FRIENDS and people that I have interacted with he has changed the LEAST and “I Love Him” for that … Of Course he has Matured lol to an extent but he’s the same person I found climbing the tree on our front lawns with crisp khakis and a cherry red button up one day after school about 9 years ago …
Over the years our friendship has evolved but at one point we were like best friends, He used to live next door to me, and before he moved we were pretty close. As MOST of you may know WE both LOVE sports, Mainly Basketball, and Football … In Basketball we are UNDEFEATED we’d play random people in 2 on 2 and to this day we have a record that’s about 13 – 0. We took Pride in our Friendship and to made us play better. In Football we were equally dominant and his nickname was Chris Carter, and mines was Randy Moss back when we were young and virtually unstoppable.
I think its safe to say that lot of people have friends that act differently with different crowds, often they become more shy, or attempt to be funnier, either way this tends to make the interactions or general mood awkward. BZ never changes, his personality is the same with parents, but more respectful as it is with a group of his peers. He has taught me that you have to keep your identity and values consistent and that no one should have such an influence over you to make you change who you are.
When you mold to impress people you tend to become fake and the things that you do and the way that you live becomes a lie. Like my Mom always said, “If you don’t LIE you don’t have to remember ANYTHING b/c the truth will show itself eventually.” Being in college and interacting with thousands of people makes it hard to understand people sometimes and you really can’t tell whose genuine and who you can actually count on, BZ always serves as a reminder to me to do my best and be there for people and be the same Rashad that I was last semester. Living this way has helped me form great friendships and create a pretty big network so far.
I don’t believe that I LOSE friends, I think I have been blessed over the years and my network continues to grow, I couldn’t have done this as successfully without the example set by BZ. Life’s TOUGH, but in the END it’s ALL about Who You Know!
I want to thanks BZ for being there for me and always keeping it REAL no matter what the situation or circumstance, we’ve been through a lot in our lives and I can always count on him to be REAL and Honest when confronting a situation …
This makes it very easy for me to look to him in my times of need b/c he's a GREAT Friend ...

The Series: Top 10 People to Influence My LIFE! … # 9
Mike Brown & Tariq Fowler
One’s Tough the Other Stands his Ground!
They both are Fierce Competitors and hate to LOSE!
Lastly, they are very supportive brothers and they look out for me in any way that they can.
My Brother Mike is the tougher one if you all don’t know. Although we don’t interact that frequently we have a great understanding and have similar mentalities. The term “Go Getters” represents both of us very well; Mike has helped me in this area tremendously. It’s like the lyrics to Brittany Spears song “Circus”. There's only two types of people in the world, The ones that entertain and the ones that observe. As much as I don’t really admire Brittany Spears this statement is very true.
Ask yourself a question are you someone that always comes up with suggestions and ideas that would be cool but never actually follow through i.e. “the observer” or are you the person that makes things happen, taking advantage of your resources turning ideas into reality i.e. “the entertainers.” A great idea or suggestion can only go so far.
Mike has showed me that the scale of things you can pull off or organize are not limited to your imagination and that if you work hard enough things that are seemingly impossible at first can be pulled together with less strain than you think. This quality has helped me in many ways and gives me the confidence to follow through with some of the outlandish ideas people come up with for instance “making a video” What seemed like a crazy thought turned into a great learning experience and priceless entertainment.
By now you know that Tariq is the one that stands his ground. Tariq is calm, similar to me, we can both act a fool when necessary but we have that inner quiet confidence. Basically, we don’t say much, we talk trash every once in a while, but we like to prove ourselves through our actions. Talk can only get you so far.
Tariq and me are so similar I have reached out to him in times where I feel like others won’t understand or they just might over think situations. He has helped me in every instant that I have called upon him over the years and he never really asks too many questions. He trusts me and is a very encouraging person; he’s a man of action, which makes him so much more influential. He’s is reliable; I’ve seen him do things that I thought were simple gestures at the time, but thinking back on them he really defies the statement “Impossible is Nothing.”
Tariq makes time for his family and friends … He has never let me down and his attitude makes me hold myself more accountable as a family member, friend, co-worker, and teammate. I make it a priority to be available and reach out to others, whether or not they can or decide to do the same. I’ve learned different things from a lot of my friends over the years and since I don’t lose them this method definitely works so ima keep it up.
Lesson # 2 … Be There for PEOPLE … Or else you’ll be Lonely!
Stay Tuned for # 8
The Series: Top 10 People to Influence My LIFE! ... # 10
How's does Bing influence Rashad Campbell, well when your a competitor and you see someone else doing well their success and work ethic become contagious.
Me and Bing first met in Middle School. I remember the days when we would both run the 100m Dash and Bing would be nearly done the race and he'd be cheering me on (lol, while he was still running) knowing that he had his place solidified. We did damage that year as teammates on the 4x100m relay team and we would cross paths a few more times due to our athletic ability.
Over the years I have been asked "Who's better at Football, You or Brandon Bing," my reply would be I think I'm more natural, but the boy is so fast that in the end he can make up for our sparing difference in natural ability. If you look at our high school careers people may have easily looked to crown me the victor, but I was just in a better situation over at CHA so that would be an unfair judgment of our talent. You'll notice that to this day I have never given anyone a definite answer but I keep telling myself that speed kills and that I was the more natural one. This upcoming season we are both on pace to be the starters at the corner back position at our respective institutions "Rutgers and Cornell" ...
Bing has taught me the difference between being "Confident and believing in yourself" versus being "A Cocky Ass Hole that everyone thinks smells themselves a little too much!" Although a lot of people are under the impression that we both may fit the latter stereotype I've been humbled through the interactions I have had with Bing over the years and truly understand his swag and how he carries himself and it has helped me develop and better understand who I am.
I no longer live my life worrying about others opinions of ME. I stick to what I know, either you like me for who I am or you don't. I'm a little stubborn, but I'll admit if if I make a mistake, then apologize on my own terms. After that I'll will move on, lastly I'm not one to dwell on the past. The way I treat people is pretty simple, "I Care!" and I've learned that one interesting way to figure out if people truly care about you is whether or not you can annoy them because that means they honestly care ... Otherwise, why would they waste their time? So don't take it personal when I piss you off I might just be doing it intentionally, but that another topic for a different day ...
My Home Away From Home!
I Call the RED Light "Night Vision!" ... Next Investment "Black Lights"
I was told Colored Lights Help you SLEEP Better! ... So I Tried It!
So "My ROOM" is Weird, Normal, Colorful, All The Above ... Basically, I like "My ROOM" and I think Everyone should personalize something of their own, for me my room really defines ME ... I think when people take the time to differentiate a space it gives the space a sense of purpose and in most college students case hopefully the motivation to keep it clean as the typical room gets messy within a week simply due to clothes or books and what not ... But that's "My ROOM!"
